Born on September 4, 1935 in Dallas, TX. Died in the arms of his children on June 8, 2021 in Milwaukee, WI.
Jim was a 1954 Graduate of Jesuit High School in Dallas, and a 3-sport varsity athlete. He was also a 1958 graduate of Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL with a BA in Philosophy, and ROTC member, and a 1st Lieutenant Army, 1st Missile Battalion, and 33rd Artillery in Germany. Jim came to Milwaukee to visit friends and met Ruth Mayer, his best friend, and the love of his life. They married in 1962, and lived in the same home in Whitefish Bay for over 54 years. Jim was a longtime shareholder at Robertson Ryan & Associates.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth, his parents James C. Boyce and Anne Shockley Boyce, and sister Sarah Denning. Survived by children Stephanie (Ken) McKean, Michael (Chrissy) Boyce, Jennifer (Chris) Morgan, his sisters Patricia James and Anne Marie Boyce, and brother Michael Boyce. Further survived by his seven devoted grandsons, Andrew McKean, Stuart McKean, Henry Morgan, Charlie Morgan, Teddy Morgan, Brennan Boyce, James C. Boyce III and many nieces and nephews. Jim, or JB as he was known to many, was fortunate to have many cherished friends from every stage of his life.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 15, from 5:00 to 7:00PM, at Feerick Funeral Home, 2025 E. Capitol Dr., Shorewood, WI 53211. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 16, at 1:00PM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 5681 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay, WI 53217. A reception will follow.
