James Frederick "Jim" Bright of Winter Haven passed away from Agent Orange related heart failure Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Winter Haven Hospital. He was born September 17, 1945 in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Charles and Ila "Betty" Bright; he moved to Winter Haven from Lake Wales in 2017. Jim was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam war. He was a member of Spirit Lake Community Church and Christ's Church On The Move. Jim was a member of the Lions Club in Ohio and Florida and was an avid baseball fan. He coached little league baseball and girls' softball. Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debbie Bright; daughter, Ashley Bird (Tom) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Chloe Bird and Olivia Bird; and daughter, Annie Mick of Wellsville, Ohio; sister, Janice Mobley (Robert) of Dover, Ohio; niece, Tracy Gibbs (Mike) of East Liverpool, Ohio; nephew, James Hughes (Melissa) of Stafford, Virginia; and his beloved pets, Baby Girl and Sasha. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jon Campbell officiating. Per family request, masks are recommended to be worn for the service for the safety of everyone attending.
