James Vernon Branson was born October 15, 1951. He had been a resident of Longview for 14 years, formerly living in Hallsville, TX, Houston, TX, Farmington, NM, and Enid, OK. He was a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed scuba diving. He worked in natural gas for 48 years and was a member of Abundant Life Church.
James passed away at the age of 72 on February 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Branson; father, Vernon Branson; grandmother, Hattie Sims; aunt, Marie Branson; and uncle, Orvil Branson.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Malana Branson; two children, Scott Branson and wife, Randi, and Alicia Branson; and four grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Harrison,and Houston Branson.
