James G. Boujoukos, age 87, left this life peacefully with his wife Christine by his side, following a period of declining health. They had relocated to Portsmouth's Edgewood Center, from their home in Concord 2 years ago.
Jimmy was born October 10, 1937 in Boston to the late Esther (Papouleas) and George Boujoukos. He was a loving, devoted and generous husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and friend. A talented pianist, he enjoyed all genres of music. He was a true gentleman, a fine host and a sharp dresser. His handsome smile and calm demeanor will be truly missed. He enjoyed a nice dinner out, a good gin and tonic, and great company.
A 1957 graduate of Winthrop High School, he attended Lowell State College, BU, and the New England Conservatory of Music. He was a music teacher in Swampscott, MA, schools from 1966-1997. He served as organist of the Union Congregational Church from 1962 until it closed in 2016.
He was a proud Steward of Concord's Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Portsmouth's Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Boston. He along with his wife, were generous donors of many worthy non-profit organizations.
He is survived by his wife Christine Sconsa Boujoukos; son, Christopher (Julie) of West Bridgewater, MA, daughter, Andrea Boujoukos of Punta Gorda, Florida, step-daughter Nancy Notis (Ron Currier) of Rye, NH; beloved granddaughter Mary Boujoukos of West Bridgewater, MA; Brother, Arthur (Sandy) of Bedford, NH; sister Ann Jeas (George) of Boston, MA; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus grands/great grands and friends.
SERVICES - Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Thurs. Jan. 30, 2025 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 40 Andrew Jarvis Dr., Portsmouth, NH; Visitation from 11-12, with Funeral services at 12 Noon officiated by Fr. Dimitrios Moraitis. Burial will take place on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11:00 am at Winthrop Cemetery, Winthrop, MA. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
