Jim (James) was a caring man, who enjoyed all sports, and driving through the country throughout the spring, summer, and fall to see the crops and farms. Jim was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing a variety of flowers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash.
Jim passed away peacefully at the New Richland Care Center on August 28th, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born June 24, 1945, to Homer and Irene Bauleke. He was born in Le Sueur MN and graduated from Le Sueur High School. Jim helped on the family farm after graduation before enlisting in the US Navy. He worked and retired from Jostens after more than 30 years. He was an avid bowler, softball player, and softball umpire.
In 1974 Jim met and fell in love with Julene (Jo) and they were married on November 13th, 1976. Most of their married years were spent living in Owatonna MN where they owned a home and spent much of their time planting and gardening. Another hobby of Jim and Julene was antiquing. Most weekends they could be found traveling around the countryside visiting antique shops and auctions. Antiquing was a hobby they both enjoyed with a passion.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Julene, father Homer, mother Irene, and his sister Janet Bauleke. He is survived by his brother Brian Bauleke, sister Susan Bauleke, daughters Lisa, Renae, Lori, and LeAnn, as well as his sons Jerry, Jimmy, John, and Darryl. There are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but was looking forward to joining his wife Julene in heaven.
Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Saturday September 7th, 2024, between 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to a charity of our choice.
