Jakie Lowell Weger Jr., 63, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 in Lawton, surrounded by family and friends.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at the Denton Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Price officiating. Burial will be in the Denton Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Jakie was born Saturday, Oct. 22, 1960 in Lawton, to Jakie Sr. and Doris (Garrett) Weger. Jakie lived most of his life in the Sterling area, and graduated from the Sterling Public Schools before joining the Army. During his enlistment, Jakie earned the honor of being a marksman, and he continued sharpening his skills with his guns throughout his life. Jakie married (Jody) JoAnn Weger in 2010, and together they celebrated 15 years together, and was the love of his life before he preceded her in death. Jakie married Michelle Martinez in 1983, and they had four children while they were together. Jakie was a hard worker and was employed by Latimer trucking for many years. Jakie liked watching old westerns and working around his own homestead. Whether he was out riding horses or checking the cows with his wife or taking his tractor out to work his land or help his neighbors out, Jakie loved it. Even more than his farm, Jakie loved his family. He cherished time spent with them from teaching his children sports to woodworking with his father and sister, Lelana.
Survivors include his wife, (Jody) JoAnn Weger of the home; mother Doris Garrett, of Elgin; son, Colten Weger and wife Courtney of Chickasha; stepson, Joseph Solida and wife Renee of Sheridan, AR; four daughters: Laci Garrett and husband T.J. of Pocasset, Regina Smith and husband Kyle of Davis, Daphne Martinez of Amber, and Jacqueline Fox and husband Jason of Chickasha; step-daughter, Candace Pitts and husband Jonathan of Newport, AR; three sisters: Cynthia Weger of Oklahoma City, Lelana Riley and husband Mike of Pocasset, and Christina Ryans and life partner Marty Corr of Chickasha; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Jakie was preceded in death by his father, Jakie Lowell Weger Sr., sister, Selena Riley, stepson, Justin Webb, grandparents, Jacob and Quincy Weaver, grandparents, Aubrey and Etolia Garrett, brother-in-law, Timmy Ryans, nephew Tim Allans Ryans, and niece, Misty Riley.
Pallbearers will be: Colten Weger, Charlie Weger, Aubrey Hunter, Jamie Dees, Justin Adamson, Matt Garrett, Jeremy Riley, and Michael Baker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Riley and Richard Garrett.
