"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
The "Relentless" book of sister Jacqueline Theresa Guillory Anderson began when she was born to the union of Wilfred Guillory and Yvonne Andrus Guillory on September 23, 1962 in Lake Charles, LA. She was the oldest of their two beautiful girls.
The first chapter of this awesome book began when she was just a baby. She was introduced to Christ and was baptized at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School from 1st through 8th grade and was a faithful member of the church, where she played guitar for the choir. She attended Pearl Watson Junior High School and Lake Charles High School where she developed the love of basketball. She played on the basketball team for both schools. She was a proud member of Lake Charles High School Wildcats class of 1980.
Jackie attended Lamar University in Beaumont, TX and obtained a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. She started her career with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the Orange Area office and later transferred to the Beaumont District office. She worked for TxDOT for 28 years and nine months retiring as their first black female professional engineer.
In 1985, while working for TxDOT in the Orange Area office she met the "Love of her life", Charley James Anderson, Jr. They were married on Valentine's Day in 1987. To their union "The Princess" was born, Keisha Marie Anderson in 1989. Jackie knew that Keisha was a true "Blessing" from Our Heavenly Father.
While in Orange, TX, she continued her walk in faith and was a loyal member and servant at St. Theresa Catholic Church. After moving to Beaumont, TX, she enjoyed her membership at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. She later converted to Baptist and became a strong faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. There she served in numerous ministries.
She was very health conscious, always cooking healthy meals, working out or cycling. She loved traveling, being near clear blue water, and attending NBA games. She never met a stranger with her vibrant personality and always wanted to help someone. She achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a member of the distinguished Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, Beaumont Alumnae Chapter with her sisters on the fall line of 2020. But her most precious joy was becoming Gigi to her grandson Zaire Vonn White "Tugga".
She turned the final page in her book on June 29, 2021 and will forever be known as a Godfearing woman, devoted wife, loving mother, awesome grandmother, committed daughter, caring sister and loyal friend.
She leaves to cherish her memories of 58 years: parents Wilfred and Yvonne Guillory of Lake Charles, LA; husband of 34 years Charley James Anderson, Jr. of Beaumont, TX; daughter Keisha Marie White (Tommy) of Beaumont, TX; grandson Zaire Vonn White of Beaumont, TX; stepson Marlon Jerome Anderson of Dallas, TX; sister Patricia Ann Guillory of Houston, TX; with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, loved ones, friends and her beloved Antioch church family, Dr. John R. Adolph, pastor.
There will be a private ceremony for the family.
