Help us celebrate Jacqueline! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Jacqueline.
Jacqueline Elaine Fojtasek , 85 years young, was born in St. Louis Missouri on January 21, 1937. Jacqueline passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2022.
Her family moved to Denison Texas when she was a young girl. She graduated from Denison High School and went on to attend Trinity College in San Antonio.
She moved to Dallas and met the man that became the love of her life, Joe Fojtasek. She would marry him on her birthday, so he would never forget either. She was rarely without her beloved "Joey" by her side.
Jacqueline was a devoted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Her family meant the world to her, especially the younger ones. She doted on them as often as she could. She was blessed to have lived long enough to meet three of her great grandchildren.
She lived life to the fullest enjoying travel, tennis, golf, skiing, going to the beach with family and friends, reading and her "quiet time" as she called it, when she could just be alone and reflect.
Jacqueline was a philanthropist committed to the success of many institutions and organizations in Dallas. She gave generously to St. Mark's School of Texas, Episcopal School of Dallas, the Salvation Army, the Crystal Charity Ball as well as her gift of time by serving on the Baylor Foundation Board and the Crystal Charity Ball Advisory Board.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years Joe Fojtasek, her parents Blanche and Jack Martin, and her siblings Joan McIntosh and Richard Martin.
Jacqueline is survived by her two sons Russell Fojtasek and his wife Michelle, Randall Fojtasek and his wife Ola and stepsons Joe Ed Fojtasek and his wife Yvonne, Richard Fojtasek; grandchildren Michael Fojtasek his wife Anna Margaret Hollyman, Joe Fojtasek, Jack Fojtasek, Randall Fojtasek Jr., Caitlin Noble and her husband Greg, Gage Fojtasek, Eric Fojtasek, Kevin Fojtasek , Ananda Fojtasek, Hillary Fojtasek; great grandchildren Maie Fojtasek, Burnes Fojtasek, and Frank Noble.
We would like to thank her closest friends who made it a priority to have lunch with her every Saturday. Her two constant care givers Lovie Hunt and Christina Cain whose unending commitment to her care improved the quality of her life every day. Her doctors of many years Dr. Melissa Carry and Dr. David Winter of Baylor Hospital who encouraged her and were always available to her for advice.
Her life was celebrated with a private family service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Jacqueline's name be made to the Baylor Foundation.
