Mrs. Cole was born to the late Margaret and Jack deMange of Charleston. Mississippi.

It was here that she met her beloved husband, Dr. Gerald B. Cole, and was crowned the Sweetheart of Sigma Nu. After graduating from dental school, they moved to Waynesboro, Mississippi, where Jerry practiced Dentistry and they raised their son, Jimmy.
After living in Waynesboro, they retired to Oxford, Mississippi. As active alumni. Jackie and Jerry enjoyed attending all Ole Miss sporting events to cheer loudly for the Rebels and traveled often with the Alumni Association. Jackie held a special place in her heart for her family, especially her granddaughters who were her pride and joy. Her family describes her as being loving, caring, fiercely loyal and a joy to be around. She was always engaging and never met a stranger and could be counted on to be the life of the party. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
