Jacob Russell Chaffins, age 28 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born October 18, 1993 in Pikeville, Kentucky to April Amburgey Johnson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and the late Phillip Rusty Chaffins. He was the husband of Savannah Bryant Chaffins. He was a Prestonsburg City Police Officer, Member of Prestonsburg Fire Department, Sergeant in the National Guard, EMT, US Marshall and attended Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his wife and mother he is survived by his Daughter: Paisley Chaffins of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Brothers: Jordan Chaffins & Seth (Hailey) Ousley both of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Sisters: Kimberly (Barry) Hall, Haley (Gabrielle) Spears & Savannah Ousley of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; 7 Nieces & 2 Nephews; Maternal Grandparents: Olin & Glenda Amburgey of Louisa, Kentucky. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his brother: Phillip Gene Chaffins & Paternal Grandparents: Phillip and Alice Chaffins. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 6pm at Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Ivel, Kentucky and will continue all day Wednesday, July 6, 2022
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 1pm at the Mountain Arts Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky with Randy Woods officiating
Burial will follow at Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, Kentucky
