ROCKY MOUNT - Jackie P. Weaver, age 89, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on April 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jetty H. Joyner and Mary Etta Vick Joyner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel N. Weaver, Jr.; her son, Alan Wayne Weaver; her brothers, Stanley Harold and Bobby Lee Joyner; her sister, Mary Elizabeth "Lit" Carpenter; and her son-in-law, Robert Thomas Langley.
Jackie was giving of herself to all who knew her as she was willing to take care of anyone who was sick, including her parents, her husband, and her son, and still worked a fulltime job. She did what she needed to do to keep her children with what they required growing up. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Jackie is survived by her children, Arlene Weaver Joyner and husband, Bobby, of Rocky Mount, Diane Weaver Langley of Rocky Mount, Ronnie Neal Weaver and wife, Suzanne, of Rocky Mount; and Wanda Weaver Powell and husband, Steve, of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Michelle Joyner Mosley and husband, Chris, Shaun Joyner and wife, Christi, Rodney Thomas Langley, Dawn Weaver Edwards and husband, Al, Lisa Dawn Safrit and husband, Rob, Brandon Wells Powell and wife, Tess, and Wilson Taylor Ellis; her great-grandchildren, Evan Christopher Mosley, Katelyn Michelle Mosley, Caleb Ray Mosley, Ryan Thomas Joyner, Trevor Lee Joyner, Cameron Grey Joyner, Lizzie Peyton Joyner, soon-to-be, Steven "Nash" Joyner, Ariel Danielle Langley, Landon Thomas Langley, Cayla Nichole Edwards, Corey Neal Edwards, Brice Coleman Safrit, Brant Tyler Safrit, Aiden Powell, Carly Powell, and Owen Powell.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Glenn Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the CNA's at Prodigy Transitional Rehab in Tarboro and nurse, Cheryl Jordan for their dedication and care of Jackie.
