Jack Wooten, aged 78, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024 at his home in Jarvisburg, NC. Born on September 17, 1945 in Dekalb County, AL, Jack led a life of honor and dedication.
After serving his country with honor in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam, Jack went on to work as a Tugboat Captain. With his unwavering commitment to his profession, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Bob Wooten and Myrtle Tinker Wooten, as well as his wife, Rose Everett Wooten, his brothers, Jerry Ike Wooten, Sr., Bob Wooten, Jr., and Danny Wooten and a sister, Irene Wilson. He was also preceded by his sister-in-law, Connie Barkley Wooten, his stepdaughter, Nora Lee Lytle, and a step-grandchild.
He is survived by his stepsons, Robert "Boogie" Foster Lytle, Jr. (Nina) and Richard Dale Lytle (Merita). Jack is also survived by his brothers, Tommy Wooten and Hank (Judy) Wooten, as well as two step-grandchildren.
Services for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Twiford Memorial Chapel. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, February 12, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service information pending at Laurel Memorial Gardens.
