Jack went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 9, 2021. He was born at Snohomish General Hospital on October 2, 1945 to Beaver and Marion Marshall. He grew up learning about logging, hunting, and growing and harvesting food to help the family. After graduating from Snohomish High School, Jack entered the Navy. He enlisted during the Vietnam War and served from 1965 to 1969, transferring to the Naval Reserve until 1971. Jack earned the National Defense Services Medal. Shortly thereafter, Jack began his career in logging as a faller.
On August 21, 1982, Jack married Maxine Ford. They later welcomed daughters Jacqueline and Brogan. To better support his family, Jack began working for the WSDOT in 1986. He worked at the Maintenance Facility in Everett, retiring at 65, in 2010. He was very proud of his years with the state. After retiring Jack volunteered many hours as an usher at Snohomish Community Church developing many wonderful friendships.
In 2016, Jack and Maxine moved to East Wenatchee. Jack spent many of his days enjoying the beauty of the area and caring for their new home. He thoroughly enjoyed time with his grandchildren, working in the garden, and helping friends and neighbors.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Beaver and Marion Marshall of Snohomish. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Maxine, daughters Jacqueline Marshall-Cox (Grant), Brogan Mitchell (Gordon), and 5 beautiful grandchildren: Ava, Cole, Blake, Chloe and Lincoln. He also leaves behind brothers Tim and Jon (Charlene) Marshall and sisters Elaine Foy, Sara (Jim) Alex, and Kris (Ray) Zinicola.
Jack will be missed for his many wonderful attributes: His kindness, his willingness to always lend a helpful hand, and for always treating the people he met as friends. He will be forever loved and remembered for his deep love and devotion to his wife and family.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Snohomish Community Church on Saturday, January 23 at 11AM.
Jack will be laid to rest at a private family gathering in Chelan, WA. He will be interred near his grandparents, with whom he spent many fond summers in the Antoine.
