Jack L. Cothran (Buddy), son of late John B. and Ginger Cothran, passed away on March 22, 2021. He
was born February 26, 1953 in Columbia, SC.
Jack has been a lifelong volunteer in his community, schools, Haz-Mat Teams, fire department and
Freedom Weekend Aloft. Jack was a member of Fire Stations 13,16, and 26. Jack served as PTO
president at Riverside Middle. He also served as Band Booster President for the Pride of Pendleton
Band. Jack served as the voice of the Pendleton Bulldogs for 15 years.
Jack was retired from the Robert Bosch Corporation after 20 years of service. While there he was on
the fire brigade and Haz-Mat team. Jack also was employed by Spartan Foods as th GM of Quincy's.
Jack also coached for the YMCA in various sports. After retiring Jack enjoyed being a full-time RVer
and volunteering all over the southeast.
Jack is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Margaret of 46 years, his son Scott and his
sweet girl Erin. Brothers: Skip (Suzy) of Greenville, Ben (Ann) of Anderson, In-laws Laura Martin
Needham (Tom) of Greensboro and Johnny Martin (Catherine) of Liberty. Many nephews Josh, Grant,
Matthew, Tray, and Alex; and his "Princess" niece Rachel.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 27, 20211 at 4:00 PM at the volunteer Village,
565 Little Powderbag Rd., Hartwell, GA. Please come in Jack's favorite "uniform" of shorts, flip flops
and your favorite Clemson shirt. Please bring a chair also.

The family of Jack Cothran have entrusted the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Cremations, 333 E.
Johnson St., Hartwell, GA 30643, to assist them during their time of grief.
