Jack T. Cordon, 77, of St. Anthony, Idaho, passed away in St. George, Utah on February 4, 2022. He lived life with passion, had a playful nature, loved his family and had many dear friends!
Jack was born in St. Anthony, Idaho to Leo Hunter and Ida Edginton Cordon on November 19,1944. He went to school in Ashton, Idaho. He married Patricia Lynn Huntsman on May 12, 1967 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple. He earned his Bachelors and two Master's Degrees at Idaho State University. After farming and logging, he worked as a Technician, Group Leader and Superintendent at the JCC, where he retired after 22 years. He was involved in several church callings. He and Pat served in both the Rexburg and Idaho Falls Temples as officiators. He also served 2 missions, one with his sweetheart Pat in Manchester, England. He was presently serving as a counselor in the Buena Vista Senior Branch in Washington, Utah. He enjoyed doing family history research on thousands of his ancestors connecting them to one another. He loved spending time in the LDS Temple doing this important work.
Jack was an avid hiker, biker, and family man. He always had a sense of humor and a passion for fun and adventure. He felt one of his greatest accomplishments was riding his bike from coast to coast (Washington to Maine), about 11 years ago, with Pat as his support wagon. Some of his hiking and biking trips included annual "easy" family hikes, Youth Group High Adventures, hikes with friends like Half Dome in Yosemite, 3 different Grand Canyon hikes, the 7 tallest peaks in Idaho, Kings Peak, the tallest peak in Utah, multiple trips up Angel's Landing in Zions National Park, the White Rim Trail and Slick Rock in Moab, Table Rock several times, the Hiawatha Trail 3 times, and The Northern half of the Continental Divide Trail from Banff, Canada to St. Anthony.
Jack T. Cordon was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Cordon and Ida Mihlfeith; his brothers Arthur LaRoy, Gary Lee, and Daryl Ray as well as his sisters Charyl Kay Price and Janet Jill Moldenhauer. He is survived by his wife Pat Cordon; his children Mike (Lisa) Cordon, of Fruit Heights, Utah; Nicole (Kevin) Smith, of Yuma, Arizona; and Matt (Nichole) Cordon, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; eleven grandchildren and three and a half great grandchildren.
