Jack Clarence Slaughter, born on July 11, 1931, passed away on Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 at the age of 92. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee to Decatur and Hazel Slaughter. Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked for many years with the FAA. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer L. McDonald. Left to mourn his death are his wife of 68 years, Vivian R. Slaughter, and his three daughters, Carolyn Gillispie of Dublin, Ohio, Cynthia Schrowang of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Susan Dycus of Greenville, Mississippi. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15th from 5:00-6:00pm at Cokesbury United Methodist Church with a funeral service to follow. Family and friends will gather at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy) on Wednesday, March 20th at 2:00pm for a graveside service with full military honors.
