On Saturday January 25, 2020, J. Frank Meisamer beloved husband and father, died at age 89. He was born March 29, 1930 in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee to Frank Sr who was Superintendent of the hospital in Pleasant Hill and Frances Helena (Hancock) who was Director of Nursing at the same institution.
He received a Bachelors degree in accounting from Tenn Tech and a Masters in hospital administration from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. While at Northwestern University, he received the M.T. MacEachern award in 1961 given for exceptional achievement in the study of hospital administration.
As a hospital administrator, he worked in Memphis, Chattanooga and Maryville Tennessee with the position at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville lasting 2 months shy of 20 years. After this he worked as regional director for the American Hospital Association (Region 4-six Southeastern states and Puerto Rico), leaving that position in August of 1994. He concluded his career doing part time consulting for TEAM Health until 2001.
He was a past President of The Tennessee Hospital Association and a diplomat of The American College of Health Care Executives. He received numerous service awards throughout his career.
Frank was a member of the Masons for over 60 years and a past President of the Crossville Jaycees. His hobbies included photography, travel, camping and fishing. He was a very compassionate being that loved life, loved the people around him and demonstrated these frequently with a humorous side that will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years Ann Lee (Cunningham) Meisamer, children Frances Suzann (Bryan) Knuckles and Monte (Terri) Meisamer, grandchildren Edward Knuckles and Ann Lee (John) Knuckles-Mahoney and great-grandchild Hazel Suzann Knuckles-Mahoney.
