"We never lose our loved ones. They accompany us; they don't disappear from our lives. We are merely in different rooms." ? Paulo Coelho, Aleph
Isidra Flores Ortega departed to a different room on January 29, 2021. Isidra was fiercely independent. Most girls weren't allowed to attend school in Cerritos, SLP in the 1930s, so she taught herself to read and write. She loved reading, shopping and hanging out with friends and family. She leaves us with countless memories to cherish, ? cards with a note in her unique handwriting and the aroma of flour tortillas radiating from her kitchen. Preceded in death by her husband, Natalio Ortega, and four of her children, she is survived by six children (Norma, Natalio Jr., Emilio, Joe, Mart?n and Julia), 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 8:15 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in McAllen, Tx.
