Isaiah Zebulon Nasir Tafari, 15, of Bloomington made his transition Thursday, April 15, 2021 in his home. He was born November 4, 2005 in Bloomington to Christopher M. Murray and Shirley J. Stephens. He was a student.
Survivors include his parents of Bloomington; all of his spiritual family; two brothers, Ishmael Lucero and Yoshua Urban; grandparents, Sandra F. Murray and Eugene H. Harris; two aunts, Lisa Kish Stephens and Nicole Harris; two uncles, William Moore and J. C. Stokes; Godparents, Iuri Hart and Ronnita Thompson; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Theodore L. Stephens and Judith Stephens.
Isaiah is of the Rastafari faith. He enjoys horseback riding, music and communing with nature.
There will be a Homecoming Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Lower Cascades Park. Bring a vegetarian dish, and possibly a drum or shaker, in the event of rain, Homecoming Celebration of Life Services will be moved to Bryant Park. Nyahbinghi in the Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
