Isabel (Burrows) Sinclair passed away peacefully with her beloved cats Keke and Mitzy by her side, at Bedford Falls in Bedford, NH on July 7, 2022 at the age of 93
Isabel was born in Rumney, NH on March 1, 1929, she was the daughter of (late) Nathaniel and Edrie Burrows and was raised in Sandwich, NH. She married Arthur L. Sinclair and lived in Bow, NH most of her life.
Isabel received her RN degree at Laconia School of Nursing and worked on the maternity ward at Concord Hospital for 30 years. After retiring, Isabel volunteered at the American Red Cross for several years. Following the passing of her loving husband Arthur in 1989, she served on the Bow Board of Selectmen from 1997 to 2006. She took great pleasure in riding with both police and road crews in order to understand their jobs for the town. Serving on the Board was her way of giving to the town of Bow.
Isabel was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ellacoya #43 for over 75 years. She was also a long-time member of the National Grange of the Patrons of Husbandry, the Quimby School Association, a member of the Sandwich Historical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Bow Young at Heart, Bow Rotary Club, and on the board for planning of the Bow High School.
Isabel loved being a part of all of the activities at Bedford Falls, especially socializing with her friends and playing bingo of course winning was the best! She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Isabel had a great zest for life, will be profoundly missed by her family, friends and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is predeceased; her brothers; Charlie Burrows, Donald Burrows, Robert Burrows, and sister, Pauline Peaslee.
Isabel is survived by her daughters: Linda Scheyd and her husband Jeffrey of Myrtle Beach, SC and Virginia Sinclair of Manchester, NH, granddaughter Karey Scheyd and husband Irfan Hydari of Austin, TX. brothers: Leslie Burrows of Denver, CO and Bruce Burrows of Sandwich, NH, and a special friend of the family, Peter Allen. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bedford Falls for the love and care that they gave Isabel and to Brookhaven Hospice during her final days
Calling Hours will be held at Bennett Funeral Home 209 N. Main St Concord, NH 03301 on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm.
A private, family service for burial will be held on August 27, 2022 at 11:00am in Sandwich, NH.
