Irving "Skip" P. Macauley III, 70, of East Hampton and originally Clinton, passed away on July 20, 2022 in his home. Born on August 16, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky, he is the son of the late Irving P. Macauley Jr. and Doris (Hill) Macauley. Skip was a long time business owner and arborist, Macauley Tree Experts, his work was unmatched and customer service second to none.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors and working with his hands. A woodworking and boating enthusiast, many weekends were spent building or on the water. Restoring antique cars, tractors and anything he could tinker with was also a passion of his.
Above all else, he found his joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He had his stops along his many paths checking in with people of all walks of life. Skip was a man of many talents and caring for those he held dear was where he found his happiness.
Skip will be greatly missed by his children, Sean Macauley wife, Tiffany of Haddam and Kaenna Macauley of Norwich. He is also survived by his grandchildren Declan, Finnegan, Caenan, Nola, and Fiona, and his younger sister Susan "Macauley" Mikalsen.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, Skip's family asks that donations be made in his name to The Haddam Neck Volunteer Fire Department.
