
Iris Rose Snatinski
Iris Rose Snatinski (Lori Dobson) - Loving Mother, Friend and caring Nurse
Lori Dobson, was born Iris Rose Snatinski on the family farm close to Theodore Saskatchewan Canada.
Her parents were Bill Snatinski and Katie Melynchuk
She was the oldest of 4 children, two girls, then two boys. In order there names were Milly, Clifford and Clarence.
She grew up the daughter of poor Ukrainian immigrants to Canada, and spent her growing up years in Theodore Saskatchewan (then a population of about 150 people).
She graduated Valedictorian of her High School, and went to Regina, Saskatchewan where she studied to be a Registered Nurse. Upon graduating from Regina General Hospital, she first worked in the town of Shaunavon Saskatchewan, where she met Carl Edward Dobson just before he went off to Columbia to work in the Oil patch (more about him later).
Iris moved from Shaunavon Saskatchewan to the big city of Calgary Alberta where she met the very charismatic Keith Inkster.
Keith and Iris were married in 1959.
Keith and Iris lived in various locations in Calgary for the first few years of their marriage. Keith was successful salesman who worked for Fruehaft and White trucking.
In 1970, they moved to Palliser where they split up and then eventually divorced in 1972.
In 1973, a single mom with 4 kids, and working as a Nurse at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, Carl Dobson stepped back into Iris's life.
At this time, Iris wanted to change her life and change her name. She changed her name to Lori Halliday Dobson. Lori and Carl were married in 1974.
They moved from Paliser, to Lakeview, where they lived for a year and then in 1975 they moved to Okotoks, Alberta.
They lived the remained of their life in Okotoks, (then a community of only 1,200 people), they integrated into the community in a various number of roles (Nurse, Real Estate Agent) while Carl worked primarily for Northern Geophysical in Calgary.
Lori died July 6 2004 at home in Okotoks
Carl died 3 years later on August 31 2007
