Ida May Kemper, 88, of Midland, Texas passed away on August 20, 2022, in Midland. Ida was born in Omega, Oklahoma to Della and Ivan Cross on September 9, 1933. She went to school in Omega. She graduated from Omega Highschool. Ida married Allen (Corkie) Brinckmeyer and together they had five children: Allene (Lynn), Max, Jeff, Melinda (Mindy) and Craig. After Ida and Corkie completed their marriage Ida worked as a bookkeeper, computer programmer and office administrative staff. Ida left Oklahoma and worked in Carlsbad, New Mexico; Loving, New Mexico; Lubbock, Texas and Midland, Texas. Because of her love and compassion to help others, her home often served as a safe haven for numerous adolescents and young adults in addition to her children. In Midland, her friends called her Sam. It was there that she met J. Allen Kemper in an office elevator and then later married him in 1982. Ida (Sam) was preceded in death by her parents Della and Ivan Cross, father-in-law J. Marvin Kemper and mother-in-law Ruby Kemper, sister Viola Scott and her husband Louis Scott, sister Hulda Anna (Anne) Brooks and her husband Loyd Brooks, son Craig Brinckmeyer, daughter Mindy Dube, son Max Brinckmeyer, granddaughter Iris Brinckmeyer, nephew Larry Scott, nephew Ivan (Taddy) Scott, great grandson Ty Pierce and numerous other family members. Ida (Sam) is survived by husband Allen Kemper; daughter Lynn Brinckmeyer; sons Jeff Brinckmeyer, Brent Kemper, Kevin Kemper, and Bryan Kemper; brother-in-law Joe Kemper; 4 grandchildren: Lanette Pierce, Willie Pierce and his wife Terresa (TK) Pierce, and Gus Brinckmeyer; 9 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Sam's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Willowbrook Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Smith officiating.
