Ian Leslie Lucas, 89, of Kensington, CT, Husband of Sylvia (Johnson) Wilson Lucas, died after a recent diagnosis of cancer on December 26, 2020. Born in Montreal Canada, on June 5, 1931 to Leslie and Pauline (Lawrie) Lucas, he lived in the New Britain area for the last 22 years. Ian's father passed away when he was four years old and his mother took Ian and his brother Ronald back home to Scotland, she died when Ian was 10.
Ian attended Dollar Academy in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. After a brief attendance at the University of Glasgow Medical School, he left to serve in the British Army as a 2nd Lt. in the Royal Artillery during the Korean War. He immigrated back to Canada in 1957 where he graduated from Ivey School of Business at the University of London, Ontario. Ian worked as an Investment Analyst and earned his CFA.
After retirement Ian immigrated to Connecticut in 1998 where he became involved in the community, such as New Britain/ Berlin Rotary Club, former Vestry member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, New Britain, The Saturnites Club, New Britain Symphony Board and YMCA Board.
Ian was predeceased by his first wife of 24 years, Anne Orvis Lucas from New York and his brother Ronald Lucas from England. He is survived by his second wife of 27 years, Sylvia Wilson Lucas, His children Victoria Lucas (Durrell Bowman) and Christopher Lucas from Canada and Grandchildren Emma Wallace and Gareth Wallace also from Canada. His stepchildren Craig Wilson from Vermont and Sandra Wilson from Massachusetts. His step grandchildren Hamish Clark from Massachusetts and Tavish Clark from Connecticut. Special Nieces Pauline and Annabel Lucas and sister-in-law Barbara Lucas from England and Cousin Marigold Cribb from Canada.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff of the Oncology floor of the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain and Hartford Healthcare Hospice/ in home care services.
Due to COVID, services will be virtual on Sat. January 30, 2021 at Noon, a reception to celebrate his life will be held at a later date, there are no calling hours.
