Mr. Hoyt Franklin Terry, age 80, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Terry was born in Floyd County, GA on February 2, 1942, son of the late Adolphus Franklin Terry and the late Annie Mae Morris Terry. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Lee Terry and Charles Eugene Terry. Mr. Terry was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1964 until 1967. Prior to his retirement he worked at Trend Mills, Florida Tile and Peach State Labs. Mr. Terry played the piano for Eden Valley Baptist Church and Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda White Terry, Rome, to whom he was married on November 24, 1967; son, Chad Terry, Rome; daughter, Amy Terry Waddell (Chris), Trussville, AL; 6 grandchildren, Makaila Terry Ramirez Reyes (Eric), Dawson Terry, Brittany Waddell, Brianna Waddell Seman (Liman), Brooke Waddell and Blakelee Waddell; great-granddaughter, Zayleigh Ramirez; 2 great-grandsons, Ezra Seman and Zane Ramirez; sister-in-law, Sue McWhorter; brother-in-law, Johnny White (Nancy); several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 13, 2022, in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Micca Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30pm on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Mark Upton, Ivan Everett, David Garrett, David Cargle, Ellis Terry and Tracy Dowdy.
