Howard Wayne Arnold, 86, of New Oxford, PA, entered God's eternal care on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Lorien in Taneytown, MD.
Born May 21, 1939, in Brunswick, MD, he was the son of the late Howard B. and Blanche M. (Ruby) Arnold. Wayne was the loving husband of the late Mary C. (Piper) Arnold, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage until her passing on April 22, 2025.
Wayne was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, PA, and helped with the Supper Six Program at the church.
Wayne was a 1957 graduate of Brunswick High, in Brunswick, MD, and a 1969 graduate of Benjamin Franklin University in Washington D.C., with a degree in Computer Science and Accounting. He was a computer systems analyst and accountant for the U.S. Veteran's Administration for 36 years until his retirement in 1994.
Wayne loved model railroading - building his own large-scale layout, he also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, meteorology and watching the clouds, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family.
Wayne is survived by his children, Kathy M. (Arnold) Stahl of New Oxford, PA, and David W. Arnold and wife Bonnie C. Finnicum Arnold of Fairfield, PA; 6 grandchildren, John Z. Stahl, Elizabeth Stahl Snow, Richard Z. Stahl, Cameron E. Arnold, Kyle N. Arnold, and Travis W. Arnold; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel J. Snow and Michael J. Snow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and by a half-brother, Aubrey Arnold.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Wayne will be held 10:30AM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Dom Aquilino officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Reformed Cemetery, Jefferson, PA. Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 7:00-8:30PM, Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, and from 9:30-10:30AM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the church.
