Born December 6, 1946, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late Leonard Howard Geren and Helen Brown Daniels.

He is survived by his son, Shawn Geren and his wife, Mary, of Anderson, SC; step-daughter, Jaime Macke of Anderson, SC; brothers, Charlie Geren of Atlanta, GA and Tommy Geren and his wife, Wanda, of Tamassee, SC; and grandchildren, Kenan Geren of Charleston, SC and Madilyn Geren of Anderson, SC.
In addition to his parents, Howard is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Geren Eikhoff.
Due to Covid-19, the family will have a private funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Anderson SC: 105 S. Fant Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
