Born September 29th 1926 Howard Eugene Butcher the son of Mary Lucille and William Alexander Butcher passed from this life June 7, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Anne Louise Phillips Butcher.
He is survived by his three children, Pamela Butcher Baker, Philip Howard Butcher, daughter in law, Sherry Mayo Butcher and Keith Edward Butcher. Howard was also the grandfather to Courtney Butcher Sanquinetti, Lauren Baker Watson, Natalie Baker Gaither and Zach and Julia Butcher. Howard also had six great grandchildren and was also the brother of Randolph Butcher, Margaret Butcher Munse and Francis Butcher Griswold.
Howard served in the Air Force during World War II and during the Korean conflict. He often joked that he loved to fly and it showed. Howard attended SMU and went to work for the George E. Anderson Co. Inc. in 1957. Howard went on to serve as the CEO of George E. Anderson Co. Inc. until his full retirement in 2016. Howard also served as National President of Nemra during 1989-1990 having been elected to that office by his peers.
In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, Howard enjoyed playing golf with customers, flying and his telephone answering voice was enjoyed and missed by many upon his retirement. Anne and Howard had a passion for going to the Winstar Casino in Oklahoma. He would say I am going to make sales calls in Gainesville, but would also find time to slip across the border to Winstar.
Visitation will be at Jaynes Memorial Chapel 811 S. Cockrell Hill Rd. Duncanville, Texas 75137 from 6 -8 pm Thursday, June 23, 2022 with graveside service at Little Bethel Cemetery Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 am.
