Newport, NH: Howard Leonard Archibald, 72, passed away on March 31, 2022 with his loving family by his side.
Howard was born in Claremont, NH on January 30, 1950 to the late Everett Archibald and Roselba (Dubois) Archibald. He attended Windsor High School, then joined the Army. He spent some time in Germany as part of his service, and was very patriotic throughout his life.
He worked in grocery retail his entire career, working at Jiffy Mart and managing Violette's Supermarket in Newport. At one time he ran his own store in Northwood, NH.
On September 26, 1970, Howard married the love of his life, Nancy Fontaine. Together they raised two beautiful children, and made a home in Newport where they lived for over 40 years. He enjoyed a good joke and loved spending time with his family. His family was his most prized possession. Other hobbies he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, and spending time at camp.
He had a special charm about him; everyone he met loved him. With his humor and his kindness, there was so much to love.
