Howard Theodore Clayton Ankeney , 79 Aug 8, 1940 - Aug 29, 2019 BRADENTON, FL - Howard Theodore Clayton Ankeney also known to friends as "Jack," 79, of Bradenton, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019.
He was born to the late Clyde Woodrow Ankeney, Sr. and Catherine Pauline (Shupp), August 8, 1940, in Charlton, MD. He attended Oldtown High School. Howard relocated from Maryland to Florida in 1974. He was an Independent Owner-Operator over the road truck driver.
Howard retired from trucking in 2003. He loved Peterbilt trucks and trucking. He loved life and spending time with his family. He will be remembered most for his big smirky smile, good sense of humor, and a huge heart.
Howard was preceded in death by Regina, his wife of 58 years; one sister, Nellie M. Miller; three brothers, Robert P. Ankeney, Douglas M. Ankeney and Clyde W. Ankeney Jr.
He is survived by his one son, Eddy Dwayne Ankeney and daughter-in-law, Jeanna of Myakka City, Florida; one grandson, Clayton Monroe of Myakka City; two sisters, Jane E. Shupp of Hagerstown, MD, and Margaretha (Lois) Crabtree of Big Pool, MD.
Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is entrusted with arrangements. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Davis Memorial Cemetery, 14300 Uhl Hwy SE Cumberland, MD 21502 with Pastor Charles Riggleman officiating.
