Mr. Horace Arnold Braswell, Sr., 82, of Shawnee, Okla., passed away peacefully Saturday, April 21, 2018.
Arnold was born August 13, 1935 in Marshville, but lived his youth in Troy. He was the son of the late Horace D. and Velma Bailey Braswell. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1955 - 1957. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, who died in 1960; a sister, Patricia Ann Braswell, who died in 1944; a nephew, Bruce M. Moore, who died in 2014; and his stepson, Virgil “George” Scott, who died in 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Kay Braswell of Shawnee, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law, Velma Lee and Sheldon Jordan of Waltham, Maine; son and daughter-in-law, Horace Arnold “Arnie”, Jr. and Abigail Braswell of Franklin; stepdaughters, Sharon Sanders of Tecumseh, Okla., Trish (Chuck) Keeter and Jeanette Musto of Southlake, Texas; a sister, Peggy Braswell Moore of Denton; a brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Bernell Braswell of Troy; his six grandchildren who called him “Papa”: Lauralee Jordan, Shellee Rose Jordan, Sheldon Lee Jordan, and Daisy (Jack) Wentworth, Horace Arnold “A.J.” Braswell I, and Filmore Andrew “Drew” Braswell; step-grandchildren, Montia (Xochitl) Scott, Bridget Sanders, Brian Sanders, Tara (Clay) Blevins, Grant (Tory) Keeter, Fallon Keeter, Josh Musto, and Jordan Musto; his eight great-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; the mother of his two children, Laura Mae Postell of Franklin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Southside Cemetery in Troy.
