Hope Marie Jones was brought to this earth on October 23, 1970. She was a devout Christian and member of the United Methodist Church of Madisonville. At the time of her passing she and her husband, Bill Jones were living in Rusk, Texas. Hope was born in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Nimitz High School. In 1989 she went to Sam Houston University in Huntsville where she received her bachelors degree in Business Marketing. In 1999 she married William (Bill) Jones in Huntsville Texas. They were married for 21 years. Hope went on to work for State Farm as an insurance adjuster where she retired in 2015. Hope was a doting mother to her children Kindell Marie Jones of San Marcos Tx, and Lillian Dawn Jones of Rusk Tx. She had a great love for her family, cats, and crafting.
Hope was preceded in death by her father, Donald Neal Merchant; mother, Donna Darlene Winfield Merchant; Father in law, Harvey Jones; Niece, Charlotte Price; Hope is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Jones of Rusk, TX, loving daughters Kindell Jones of San Marcos, TX & Lillian Jones of Rusk, TX; Stepmother, Leticia Merchant-Goldader of Spring, TX; Mother-in-law, Yvonne R. & husband Keith Price of Amarillo, TX; Sisters, Dawn Merchant of Bastrop, TX; Ann Merchant-Hoover & husband Howard Hoover of Valentine, TX; brother, Neal & wife Susie Merchant of the Netherlands. Sister-in-law Monika & husband Thomas Higgins of Canyon, TX; Brothers-in-law Grant Jones & wife Chris of Wichita, KS; Joseph Price & wife Stephanie of Canyon, TX; Ryan Price of Huntsville, TX; Nieces : Randi, Alex, Raegan, Rylee, Rebekah, & Ryanne; Nephews: Ryland, Donald Neal, Jory, Thaddeus, Jackson and Asher. Great Niece: Madison. And many more beloved extended family.
A funeral service for Hope is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Jim Jackson and Rev. Doug Windermute officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021 at Wallace-Thompson funeral home.
