Hershel left his earthly home June 5, 2022 at the age of 74. On July 8, 2022 he and his wife, Edna, would have celebrated 41 years of marriage. Hershel was born to father, John Wayne Short and mother, Sibyl Tissue Short. Both preceded him in death.
He was retired from the City of Conroe and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Hershel loved to fish and entered many fishing tournaments; even placing in a couple of them. Hershel was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Until failing health prevented him from attending worship services, he rarely missed a service. He loved God with all his heart.
Hershel is survived by loving wife, Edna Lynn Russell Short, his many family members, and his brothers and sisters in Christ. Hershel's heart was filled with love for all. Private family services will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please give a smile to all the people you meet.
