Bedford - Herbert Wheeler, Sr., 79, of Bedford, passed away at 11:20 am on Monday, December 23, 2019 at his residence.
Born February 1, 1940 in Brownstown, he was the son of Benjamin and Ivy (Wells) Wheeler. He married Louise Spaulding on June 7, 1964 and she preceded him in death on January 29, 1998. He retired as a machinist for Otis Elevator.
Survivors include a son, Herbert Wheeler, Jr., of Bedford; a daughter, Judy Wheeler, of Virginia; two grandchildren, Teresa King and Tyson Hall; great grandchildren, Annason and Daxtyn King, Hailee and Haley Hall; a brother, George Wheeler; a sister, Ruby Owens. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Hazel Gerkins and Lola Anderson, and a brother, Howard Wheeler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, December 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
