Herbert Minzenmayer Jr of San Angelo Texas passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021 at his daughter Sherry's home surrounded by love. He was born on March 7, 1935 In Winters Texas to Herbert Minzenmayer Sr and Ellen (Briley) Minzenmayer. Herbert graduated from Ballinger High School in 1952 as a Junior. He was a proud member of the Ballinger Bearcats marching band playing the cornet. Herbert attended Texas A&M in College Station Texas until he joined the United States Marine Corp. He was honorable discharged as a Sargent in 1961. He met the love of his life Carol while in the marines and they were married on July 24, 1954 in California. They moved to Ballinger Texas were he worked for Muellers. They moved to San Angelo to work for Merchants Motor Lines as a truck driver. He also operated a motorcycle shop called Motorcycle Accessories with Carol. He loved Carol dearly and they loved to fish at Lake Amistad where they enjoyed the peace. He retired from Merchants in 1995 after the passing of Carol in 1993. He then moved to Jasper Texas so he could fish everyday. He met his second wife Verline Clifton at a grocery store and became good friends. They married in San Angelo in January 2005 and lived in Burkeville Texas until Verline passed away in September 2008. He also loved to ride his gold wing motorcycle all over the United States, Mexico and Canada. He loved to ride with his friends including his dad and wife Carol. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert & Ellen (Briley) Minzenmayer, wife Carol Minzenmayer, second wife Verline Minzenmayer and son in law Kenneth Flanary. He is survived by his daughter Sherry Flanary of San Angelo, Tracy (Jim) Hairston of Dickerson TX, Kristy Snelgrove (Bruce) Snelgrove of Robinson TX. Grandchildren Kelly (Kevin) Haggart of Graham TX, Stacy (Mark) Stagman of Liberty Hill TX, Thomas (Laura) Wilson of Keller TX, David (Bhel) Alonzo of South Korea, Tory Gray of Dickerson TX, Cortney (Ben) Neterer of Ft Drum NY, Cassidy (Brandon) Gibbs of Robinson TX, Cody Nichols of Robinson TX and Grant (Candace) Gray of Texas City TX. He also has 14 great grandchildren and special aunt Theresa Briley of Winters TX. Special thank you to Hospice of San Angelo. There will be no service per his request.
