Herbert "Nathan" Estel of Grafton, WV, born May 1, 1951, passed away May 31, 2022. Nathan is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Manuela "Betty" Estel, and two brothers Daniel and Paul Estel. Surviving Nathan is his wife Mary of Grafton, WV, son Gene and wife Robyn of Scott Depot, WV, son Nathan and partner Scott Minerich of Seattle, WA, and two grandchildren, Samuel and Ainsley Estel of Scott Depot, WV. Nathan is also survived by brother Larry Phillips and wife Betty of Fairmont, WV, three nephews and two nieces, and numerous friends who came to rely on his wit and storytelling. A 1969 graduate of Grafton High School, Nathan was most known for his work around Grafton with his father at Estel Contracting and then Estel General Contracting after he took over the business in 1990. Nathan found peace in the mountains and enjoyed all aspects of being outdoors. More than anything, he enjoyed sharing those experiences with his family and cherished friends. Having never met a stranger, Nathan will be remembered as a friendly face who always had a good story ready to tell. Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Avenue, Grafton, WV, on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 9:00 am until the funeral hour at 11:00 am with Pastor David Knotts officiating.
