Herbert Wayne (Mutt) Camp, 77, a longtime resident of Lubbock, TX, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, July 30, 2021 at Willow Cemetery, Haskell with Bro. Dan Bullock officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 10:00-11:00AM, Friday, July 30, 2021 at the funeral home, 304 N. 2nd St., Haskell, TX.
Herbert was born July 3, 1944 in Knox City, TX to Alva (Johnson) and Hayden Camp. He married Linda (Cox) on January 11, 1964 in Haskell, TX and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Herbert worked at Eagle Picher manufacturing for 36 years before retiring. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandsons. Herbert enjoyed going to the Stamford Lake and visiting with his many friends. His favorite pastime was watching westerns on television and if you changed the channel, he would wake up.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Camp of Lubbock; 2 sons, Chad Camp, Scott Camp both of Lubbock; daughter, Melinda Wall and husband John of Lubbock; 2 grandsons, Ben Wall, Nate Wall both of Lubbock; sister, Doris Lowrey and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, Walter (Butch) Cox and wife Lynda; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayden and Alva Camp; 2 brothers, Herchel Camp, Bob Camp; 2 sisters, Joe Nell Camp, and Virginia Camp.
