Henry Francis Stringer (Hank) passed away at his home on March 31, 2021 after a long illness. He was 78 years old.
Born in Bethlehem, PA to the late William and Sadie Stringer, he later moved to the eastern shore of Maryland. Henry is survived by his brother William G. (Jerry) Stringer of Waldorf, MD, four children- David Stringer, Thomas Stringer, Joann Stringer and Henry Stringer, Jr: a step-son, Jonathan Beck, and many close friends and relatives.
In addition to his parents Henry was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Stringer of Grasonville and sister-in-law Yvonne Stringer of Waldorf.
Henry attended Stevensville High School and Washington College in Chestertown. Known to be "outstanding in his field" he worked as a waterman, professional hunting guide and was the owner of Dying Breed Construction Company. He excelled in sports, playing on a number of golf, soccer, softball and bowling teams over the years. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and collecting artifacts.
Henry was a generous man known by many as someone who would give you the shirt off his back and also known for his numerous colorful stories.
For many years Henry was a proud member of the Benedict Andrew American Legion Post, the Queenstown Moose and V.F.W. Post 7464 in Grasonville. He was also a member of the Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department.
An outdoor memorial service will be held at a future date (Covid-19 dependent).
