Henry C Scott,63, of Knoxville, father of two area residents, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at his residence after an extended illiness.
He was born in Douglas on May 25,1905, the son of George and Jennie Cook Scott. He was married to Mary Burgess in Knoxville on Feb. 4, 1928. She survives.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; four sons John of Washington, Ronald of Peoria, Gerald of Galesburg, and Alan at home; a daughter, Mrs Clare Jo Gardner of Knoxville; 18 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Christie of Decator, Mrs. Jack Folger of Galesburg, Mrs Owen West of Maquon, and Mrs Victor Crawford of Arlington, Iowa; and one brother Edward of Galesburg.
He had been employed as a furnace operator for Caterpillar in Peoria for 17 years.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in Martin Funeral Home, Knoxville, the Rev. Marshall Semingson officiating. Burial will be in the Knoxville Cemetery.
