Henry L. McQuiller, 86, husband of Ethel McQuiller, peacefully entered the hands of the Almighty God on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Born in Bishopville, South Carolina on September 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Ed and Minnie McQuiller. Henry attended school in Bishopville, South Carolina. He was a retiree of the Miller Company of Meriden, CT, where he was a metal machine operator for 20 years. He was a member of the Mount Hebron Baptist Church of Meriden, CT, where he served as a Trustee and member of the Brotherhood. Henry was a member of the Ionic Lodge #7 of New Britain, CT, for over 50 years. In his leisure time, Henry enjoyed working on cars, tending to his garden along with frying those PORGIES in the backyard on a warm summer day. His most relaxing pastime was watching a good Western movie. He often assisted his wife in many nationhood activities and events. Henry was predeceased by his brothers, Isaac McQuiller, George McQuiller, and his sister, Edna Harkless. Besides his wife of 63 years, Henry leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Cynthia M. McQuiller and his son, Anthony McQuiller. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Mary Wilson, James (Calperta) McQuiller, John McQuiller, Richard (Net) McQuiller, Minnie Sue (Wallace) McCall, Paulette (James) Harkless, and Annie Hamby. He also leaves his devoted sister in-law, Mary Campbell and friends, Patrick Rainey, James Canty and LeRoy Williams along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A walk-thru visitation will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 9:30 - 11:00 AM, followed by Celebration of Life from 11:00 - 12:30 PM AM at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, 84 Franklin St., Meriden, CT 06450. Interment will be Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Service by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St., New Haven.
