Henry John Hartkorn Sr
Man with a heart of gold
Henry J. Hartkorn Sr, of Hatboro Pa., passed away peacefully Thursday May 16th, 2019. He suffered a long fight from vascular dementia. The Dr's always joked about how strong he was and he proved it by holding on for seven days at Warminster Hospice, where he took his last breath at 7:00pm next to his wife and family.
Henry was 83years old and the last remaining of his 14 brothers and sisters, they are all now reunited. He was born April 16th, 1936, in Wilkesbarre, Pa. He was the son of the late Hazel and Jacob Hartkorn.
He was the beloved husband of Anna Hartkorn(Baker) and loving father of Henry Jr(Karen) and Kevin Hartkorn. He was the beloved grandfather of Teresa Hartkorn(Chuck) and Jessie(Eddy) Loupeda. Henry absolutely cherished his four great grandchildren, Jay, Alex, Audree, and Emeric. He also was survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Anyone who knew Henry knows his career was working on cars but he sure was a jack of all trades. His main happiness and devotion was helping and taking care of other people. Just about everyone that knew him called him Pop. He loved his wife unconditionally and did everything possible to make sure his "honey bunny" was taken care of. He would stop anything he was doing in the drop of a dime to help someone. Anytime he went somewhere he loved talking to and meeting new people, even animals. Every Christmas Henry would make dozens of Anise cookies and hand them out to family, friends, crossing guards, and dr offices. He played Santa every year for his grandkids, great grandkids, and neighborhood friends. Christmas was his favorite time of year he always had a train village he would set up and add more to it each year that passed. Theres nothing you could possibly do to make this man upset or mad he was always smiling. Even in Henry's last days of life he stayed in the happiest spirit's singing and dancing everyday. He was always more worried about other people and animals then he was himself. He loved feeding the dogs that walked around the track snacks including animal crackers everyday and his ducks that came and stayed in his pond. Henry would give anyone the shirt of his back even strangers if they asked for it. He had one of the most caring genuine biggest hearts you could come across.
In Henry's happy healthy days, he loved camping, traveling, watching the horses swim across Chincoteague, dunbugging, dancing being silly especially to "the twist", and mainly spending time with his family. He loved to help his sons with any home improvements and watching Henry jr work on his hotrods. His grandson Jay loved being with his Pop because they would ride the tractor around the yard and play soccer together.
Henry will be missed by many people, but he also was welcomed paitently to heaven by an army of amazing people and pets including his two recent dogs Brooky and Pepper.
Relatives and Friends are welcome to Henry's Life Celebration on Friday May 24th, 2019 from 10:00-11:30am, at Decker funeral Home, 216 York Rd Warminster Pa 18974. Interment burial services will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 333 Countyline Rd, Feasterville Pa 19053.
