To know Henry Dabrowski, was to know love, laughter, and light.
Born on April 23, 1936 in the small idyllic town of Mosciska, Poland to Victor and Ludwika Dabrowski, Henry entered this world with a strong sense of family, duty, and grit.
This grit carried Henry through a stay in a labor camp as a young boy during WWII in Siberia. He was later transported to Tanzania where he grew up until his teen years. Henry’s fate eventually brought him to Chicago. He proudly served in the Engineering Division of the US Army for 4 years, including 2 years stationed in Germany.
He met his lovely wife Stella at a Polish choir in Chicago. They married and proudly welcomed 3 amazing children: Adam (Shannon) Dabrowski (Brittany Hull), Annette Davidson, and Lisa Dabrowski (Olivia and Olson Stoneberg). Everyone will tell you that Henry’s eyes lit up when his grandchildren made him a Dziadzia.
Henry had many interests. He was an avid golfer, bowler, singer, photographer, lover of classical music, storyteller, a firm believer in God, and a linguist. In fact, he spoke 5 languages: Polish, English, Russian, Spanish, and Latin.
Although Henry left this earthly plane on July 14, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona, know that his last days were spent in love and faith. And, his legacy lives on in the countless smiles of those who loved him. Spoczywaj w spokoju.
