Helene Benson
August 30, 1946 - September 27, 2021
Helene Benson, 75, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Monday September 27, 2021 at Angel Nursing and Rehab Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born August 30, 1946 in Middletown, New York to the late Anthony Parenti & Violet Avery Parenti.
Helene was incredibly hardworking and passionate about helping people. While in Middletown, she proudly owned and operated "Creative Touch, Inc.," hair salon. She was well known and respected in the community by her faithful clients who embraced her for her caring demeanor, listening ear and eye for style and beauty. When Helene wasn't at the salon, she could be found volunteering her time as an EMT for two volunteer ambulance services, Meals on Wheels- where she never met a stranger; and Helene proudly traveled to China to share the word of our Lord. Helene's enthusiasm for missionary work led her and her husband to be active within the Tres Dias Community and served with the Kairos Prison Ministries. Following Helene and her husband's relocation to Myrtle Beach, they became active in their local community and were members of Seaside Community Church. Above all else, Helene loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her zest for life, infectious laughter, and the love she had for her family and friends.
Left to cherish Helene's memory are her adoring husband of over 35 years, Mr. Richard B. Benson in Myrtle Beach, SC; children, Deanne Walsh of Cincinnati, OH, Debbie Figueroa of Unionville, NY, Derek Benson (Angelina) of Central, LA, & Brad Benson (Lindsay) of Centennial, CO; her adoring grandchildren, Amanda Davis, RJ Bennett, Shannon Walsh, Joey Walsh, Nolan Benson, Dylan Benson, Andrew Benson, & Elijah Benson; great-grandchildren, Kiley & Hailey Davis, & Lydia Ann Bennett; brother, Anthony Richard Parenti, Jr.; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
