Helen (Mason) Trieb, of Holbrook, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Monadnock Community Hospital after a period of declining health.
She was born on July 20, 1938 in Randolph, VT, the daughter of Julius and Helen (Sweeney) Mason.
She graduated from University of Vermont with a bachelor's degree. She resided in Holbrook, Massachusetts for over 50 years where she was a wife, homemaker and mother of four sons.
Helen devoted her time to providing daycare at home to children and volunteering at St. Joseph's school in Holbrook for over 30 years. In later years, she volunteered at various food pantries, the American Red Cross and most recently, she was devoted to The Friendly Food Pantry in Randolph, Massachusetts. Helen was an avid knitter, quilter, and voracious reader.
Helen was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Thomas William Trieb. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Pouliot and Nathalie Mallow, both of Vermont.
Helen is survived by her sons: Thomas W Trieb, Jr and his wife Cherie of Wamego, Kansas; Michael Trieb and his wife Rebecca of Attleboro, Massachusetts; David Trieb and his wife Julie of Rindge, NH; and Daniel Trieb of Spring Hill, Florida. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Corydon Garmon, Bernadette Trieb, William Trieb, Annette Trieb, Christopher John Trieb, Kailee Merryfield, Katarina Trieb, Elizabeth Schmidt, Jacob Hesketh, Emily Hesketh along with 4 great grandchildren: Lucy and Charlie Schmidt, and John and Peter Trieb. Helen will be remembered by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins from Vermont as well as her friends.
Services: In accordance with Helen's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A Christian memorial service will be celebrated on Monday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. in Winthrop Congregational Church, 16 N Franklin St, Holbrook, MA 02343. A private burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen's name to Winthrop Congregational Church, 16 N Franklin St, Holbrook, MA 02343.
