Helen Butts Stasey departed from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2021. She lived out her Christian faith all her life.
Helen was from February 9, 1933 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Jim and Pearl Henderson. She married Gene Butts her highschool sweetheart on April 28, 1951 in San Angelo, Texas. They were married for 32 years. Gene proceeded her in death on October 30, 1983. Helen married Pat Stasey on February 29, 1991. Pat proceeded her in death in March of 2005.
Also preceding her in death was her twin sons, Lloyd and Floyd, who died in 1951 and her great granddaughter, Taylor Kucel, who died on June 16, 1995.
Our mother was always there for us children from childhood to adults. Mother loved us like only a mother could. She held us accountable for our actions and had us in church every Sunday when we were growing up. At times it was tough love but we still try to carry out those principles today. she was a strong Christian wife, mother, and grandmother who studied the Bible often.
Surviving Helen are her sons, David and wife Roylesa of Midland, Gerald and wife Sandi of San Angelo, and daughter Connie Sullivan of Levelland. Also surviving her are grandchildren Joe David Butts and wife Tiffany, Jeremy Butts and wife Jennifer, Josh Butts, Gene Butts and wife Jenny, Nicole Barnes and husband Michael, Tyle Sullivan and wife Laren, Tiffany Seiler and husband Greg and Katherine Kucel and husband Chad, She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Life Point Baptist Church at 2:00pm on January 16, 2021 with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gideons International or Paul Ann Believing for more Building Fund. Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing are required.
