Helen Adele Roltsch (n?e Roscher), age 89, died peacefully in her sleep on January 19, 2021 in Prince William County - her home for many years. Born in Mt. Vernon, New York, Mrs. Roltsch spent much of her childhood and young adult life in Bogota, New Jersey. She married Albert Lawrence Roltsch and together, they had five children - Al Roltsch, H. Jan Roltsch-Anoll, Mark Roltsch, Tom Roltsch, and Marilyn Roltsch Dent.
Mrs. Roltsch was a unique woman in many respects. She was an avid swimmer, lover of bugs and reptiles, and a graduate of Rutgers University. Mrs. Roltsch's adventures took her on travels around the world. She ran a gymnastics school out of her home for many years that was a pillar of her community. In the later part of her life, she was a caregiver to her nine grandchildren and taught swimming lessons, preschool, and vacation bible school to many neighborhood children.
Mrs. Roltsch is survived by her sister, Marilyn Bartko; brother, David Roscher; five children; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and older brother, Charles.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place on July 3, 2021 at Mrs. Roltsch's family home in Montclair, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice that supports either the welfare of animals or children - two passions of Mrs. Roltsch's life.
