Helena (Staszewska) Rogalewski, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 12, 1926 in Radziejow, Poland to her parents, Stephania and Stanislaw Staszewski.
Taken from her home at 15 during the German occupation, Helena later emigrated to New Britain where she met and married her husband John, who often referred to her as "my flower". She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and spent her life nurturing and caring for those around her. Helena took great joy in tending to her garden and cooking for her family, making all her cherished Polish family recipes. By the countless efforts of her family, especially her daughter Jadzia, she was able to live out her life peacefully in her home, with her husband by her side.
Helena is survived by her husband John, her children, Jadzia "Hedi" Rogalewski, John Rogalewski and wife Elizabeth, her grandchildren, Johanna Gagnon and husband Peter, Victoria Discipio and husband Thomas, Johnny Rogalewski and wife Carla, great grandchildren Jack, Ella and Sophie, and her sister, Antonina Miech and family in Poland.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain.
