Helen Virginia Pryor

Helen Virginia Pryor, 92, of Sabillasville, MD, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at her home.

Born March 19, 1927 in Harbaugh Valley, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Guy Gladhill and Mary Mae (McKissick) Gladhill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin G. Pryor, Jr., July 2, 2009.

She was a graduate of Thurmont High School class of 1945.

Helen was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Sabillasville, MD, and served as a member of the church guild.

She worked at Waynesboro Knitting Mill and was a homemaker.

Helen is survived by sons, Edwin Pryor and wife Sandra and Carl Pryor and wife Lisa, grandchildren, Shawn Wolfe, Amanda Kershner and husband Bill, Nathan Pryor and Candice Novak and husband Dan, sister, Vada Brown, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughters, Colleen Sue Pryor and Donna Kaye Wolfe and brothers, Sheridan Gladhill, Carroll Gladhill and Lawrence Gladhill.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 7:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Rev. John Shillingburg and Rev. Rebecca Shillingburg officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm, two hours before the service.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
