Helen Mink Obituary
Funeral services for Helen L. Mink, 90, who died (July 28, 1998) at her home in Elcho, surrounded by her loving husband and family will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the United Church Of Christ Congregational, Rev. Jack LaMar will officiate.
Burial will be at the Elcho Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Bradley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mink was born Jan. 16, 1908 in Lily Lake, Ill., a daughter of the late Ole and Albertina (Hansen) Oleson. She married Walter G. Mink on April 8, 1932 in Elgin Ill. He survives.
She and her husband owned and operated the Elcho Boat Shop and then later a Lock Shop and Variety Store. She was a 1928 graduate of Woodstock High School, Woodstock Ill., and was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational and Ladies Aid.
She was also a member of the Hyland Lakes Lioness Club and longtime member of the community. She was an avid bird watcher and had a love for nature and beautiful flowers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles (Marlene) Mink, Elcho and James (Jane) Mink, Raleigh N.C.; a special niece, Betty (Dave) Gruber, Kewaunee; eight grandchildren, Brian (Monica) Mink, Kathy (Steve) Ourada, Stacy Mink, Leslie (Rodney) Bethel, Kara (Mike) Fisher, JoAnn (David Schlosser, Amy (Mark) Bromberg and Christopher (Sabrina) Mink and nine great-grandchildren.
