Mrs. Helen Virginia Kurpis, 100 years young, peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven on July 10, 2023.
She was the sixth and youngest child of Mr. Frank and Mrs. Palma Gobbi, born, raised and educated in New York.
Friends since childhood, Helen was married to her husband, George Richard Kurpis, for 67 years before he predeceased her in 2011. Their son, Russell Richard Kurpis, also predeceased her.
Both their daughter, Christine, and son, Russell, were born in Bronxville, New York where the family resided for many years. Upon his retirement in 1985, Helen and George relocated to Marietta, Georgia to be in closer proximity to their family.
Helen was an avid reader, a lover of music and singing and dancing, an enthusiastic member of her church's "Saturday Night Friends" group as well as both the West and East Cobb Senior Centers. Helen and George were even named "Senior Citizens of the Year." Helen was creative and vibrant and dearly loved.
Among those who miss her already are her daughter Christine Kurpis Weaver (Bill), her precious granddaughters Sarah Weaver Chaves (Josiah) and Amy Weaver Stancil (Deke) and her four beloved great-grandchildren Christian, Morgan, Landen and Romie.
Helen is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
Her's was most certainly a life well-lived and her joy is now made full for eternity!
